1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Browsers also provide localStorage and sessionStorage, which let a site remember limited information without using a cookie. This policy describes the storage currently used by the public BingeBear Vite site. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Any mandatory cookie, privacy, or electronic-communications rules that apply to you remain applicable.
2. Storage used by the public site
The public site currently uses the following first-party browser storage:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| bb_lang | localStorage | Remembers whether you chose English or French | Until you clear site data or change the preference |
| bb_lang | First-party cookie | Makes the same language preference available during navigation | Up to 12 months |
| bbprivacyconsent_v1 | localStorage | Remembers your analytics and advertising choices | Until you change the choice or clear site data |
| bb_cid | localStorage | Pseudonymous first-party journey measurement, only after analytics consent | Until consent is withdrawn or site data is cleared |
| bb-utm / bb-ref | sessionStorage | Keeps campaign and referral attribution, only after analytics consent | Until the tab closes or consent is withdrawn |
| bb-checkout-form-ie-v2 / bb-checkout-form-uk-v2 / bb-checkout-form-fr-v2 | sessionStorage | Restores an unfinished market-specific checkout form after refresh or back navigation | Current tab session; removed after a successful submission |
| bb-hero-video-time | localStorage | Remembers the homepage video position | Until you clear site data |
The current language preference is handled directly by the Vite site under the `bb_lang` key.
3. Optional analytics and advertising
Optional services are off until you choose them in the privacy panel:
| Provider / name | Category | Purpose | Typical browser duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Clarity / _clck | Analytics | Keeps a pseudonymous Clarity user identifier | Up to 12 months |
| Google Analytics / ga and ga_* | Analytics | Distinguishes browsers and maintains session information after analytics consent | Up to 2 years, subject to property settings |
| Microsoft Clarity / _clsk | Analytics | Joins page views into a session | About 1 day |
| Meta Pixel / fbp and fbc | Advertising | Measures visits and campaign referrals | Up to 90 days |
Clarity form fields are explicitly masked. We also avoid sending raw catalogue searches or form contents in our analytics events. You can accept all, reject optional storage, choose categories separately, or reopen the Privacy choices panel from the small shield button in the corner of any page at any time. Withdrawing a category stops that service and removes its known browser identifiers on this device.
4. Other third-party services
The public site links to or may send you to services such as Stripe, WhatsApp and Trustpilot. Those services may use their own cookies or browser storage when you open or use them. Their storage is controlled by the relevant provider and covered by its own privacy and cookie information.
5. Managing browser storage
Privacy choices. Use the persistent button at the edge of any page to change or withdraw optional analytics or advertising consent.
Language preference. The `bb_lang` value remembers a language choice. Clearing BingeBear site data removes both the cookie and localStorage copy.
Browser settings. Most browsers let you inspect and delete cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage for a specific site. You can also block cookies or clear all site data. Blocking or clearing storage may reset your language, remove campaign attribution, forget the homepage video position, or erase an unfinished checkout form.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
