55,000+ live channels
Amazon Prime is around €5.99 a month or €71.88 a year in Ireland in 2026. For that you get free postage on Amazon orders, a music subscription, and Prime Video (the streaming part).
BingeBear has two one-off options: The Taster is €100 for 10 months, and The Owner is €300 for lifetime access. Neither plan renews automatically. For that you get 55,000+ live channels and 168,000+ films and box sets.
Different products, different price. Here’s the honest answer on which you should pay for.

What Prime Video actually has
Prime Video gives you:
- Amazon’s own shows (The Boys, Reacher, The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, Citadel)
- A rotating library of films (some good, some not)
- A handful of live sport, mostly Premier League selected Tuesday/Wednesday matches in the UK (no Premier League in Ireland on Prime in 2026)
- Rent-and-buy films from a separate Amazon store, on top of the subscription
Prime Video does not have:
- Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Premier Sports
- Sky Cinema
- RTÉ, Virgin Media, TG4
- BBC iPlayer, ITV X (these are separate free services)
- Netflix shows, Disney+ shows, HBO shows
What BingeBear has
BingeBear gives you:
- Every Sky Sports and TNT Sports channel
- Every Premier League match including the ones Prime would have shown in the UK
- All the Irish channels: RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, RTÉ News, Virgin Media One/Two/Three, TG4
- Every UK free-to-air: BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5
- 168,000+ films and box sets, including most of the major Hollywood catalog
- UFC and boxing PPVs included
- News from Sky News, BBC News, RTÉ News and Al Jazeera
BingeBear does not have:
- Amazon’s exclusive originals (The Boys, Reacher)

When Prime is better
Three cases:
- You order from Amazon a lot and the free postage justifies the bill on its own.
- You only watch one or two Amazon-exclusive shows.
- You don’t watch live sport or news, and you’ve got Saorview for the Irish channels.
When BingeBear is better
Three cases:
- You watch any live sport. Prime has almost none in Ireland.
- You want Irish channels and live news.
- You want a much bigger films-and-box-sets library.
You can run both
The most common setup we see in Irish households: Amazon Prime for the postage (and the odd binge of The Boys), plus BingeBear for everything else.
That’s €25.99 a month for the two. Still less than a Sky bill before sport is added on.

Frequently asked questions
Does Prime have the Premier League in Ireland?
No. The Prime Video Premier League rights are UK-only. In Ireland in 2026 you need Sky Sports, TNT Sports or BingeBear for live Premier League.
Is Prime Video included in Amazon Prime?
Yes. The €5.99 monthly Prime subscription includes Prime Video, free postage, Prime Music basic, and Prime Reading. They are not separate.
Can I get Prime Video without Prime?
Yes, on a separate €5.99 monthly Prime Video-only plan. Same price, but you lose the postage and music perks.
Will I still need Amazon Prime if I have BingeBear?
For free postage on Amazon orders, yes. For Prime Video, only if you specifically want Amazon’s exclusive originals like The Boys or Reacher.
Does BingeBear work on a Fire TV stick (which is Amazon’s)?
Yes. The Fire TV stick is hardware made by Amazon, but BingeBear runs on it the same as any other Android-based device.
