Films and box sets
Vodafone TV is one of the bigger Irish TV bundles. It runs over Vodafone fibre broadband and ships a Vodafone TV box. The full TV+broadband bundle lands somewhere between €60-90 a month depending on the tier.
BingeBear has two one-off options: The Taster is €100 for 10 months, and The Owner is €300 for lifetime access. Neither plan renews automatically. This post is the honest comparison.

What Vodafone TV gives you
Three tiers as of 2026:
- Vodafone TV Basic — about €20-25/mo on top of broadband. Bundle of Irish + UK + lifestyle channels.
- Vodafone TV Sports — adds Sky Sports and TNT Sports for an extra €20-30/mo.
- Vodafone TV Plus — adds Sky Cinema for €15 more.
Bundled with the standard Vodafone Pro fibre (€35/mo), a full Sports+Cinema household pays €80-95/mo.
Vodafone contract terms: 12 or 18 months typical, exit fees if cancelled early.
The Vodafone TV interface is genuinely good — newer than Eir’s, easier than Virgin’s. Hardware is solid.

What you trade by switching
Honest answer — not nothing:
- The Vodafone TV remote and interface are nicer than the recommended player app on a Firestick. If you genuinely value the hardware integration (one remote for telly + Vodafone), BingeBear is a downgrade in that one specific way.
- The Vodafone TV catch-up is integrated into the EPG with one button. BingeBear’s catch-up works but is in a separate menu.
- If you bundle Vodafone broadband + TV + mobile + landline, the multi-product discount can offset some of the TV cost. Vodafone’s “RED Family” bundle is genuinely competitive.
If you watch a lot of live sport and films, the maths still favours BingeBear by a wide margin. If you watch mostly Irish soaps and Vodafone-EPG-curated content, the bundle’s value isn’t terrible.
Cancelling Vodafone TV while keeping the broadband
Same pattern as Eir:
- Phone Vodafone (1907 from a Vodafone phone, or via the MyVodafone app).
- Specify: “I want to remove the TV component but keep broadband and mobile (if applicable).”
- Be ready for retention: 3 months free TV, a tier downgrade with no exit fee, etc. If you actually want to drop TV, hold the line.
- Get a reference number. Effective date = 30 days notice typical.
- Return the Vodafone TV box via their returns label.
For the broader negotiation pattern (works on Vodafone, Eir, Sky, Virgin): Drop Sky in 2026, step by step.

Common questions
Will BingeBear run on Vodafone fibre?
Yes. Vodafone fibre (any tier from Vodafone Pro upward) is comfortably fast enough for HD and 4K BingeBear. No special configuration needed.
Can I keep my Vodafone mobile if I drop TV?
Yes — Vodafone TV, broadband and mobile are separate products even on a bundled bill.
What about Vodafone TV’s catch-up for Irish channels?
RTÉ Player and Virgin Media Player work fine as separate apps on any Smart TV or Firestick. You don’t lose Irish catch-up by dropping Vodafone TV.
Will I still get Sky Sports for the matches?
Yes — BingeBear carries every Sky Sports and TNT Sports channel. Same content, different delivery.
How long is the trial?
24 hours, free, no card needed. WhatsApp us, login lands on your phone, install the app, watch.
