IPTV Smarters Pro in 2026: what happened, and what to use on your Firestick, Android TV, iPhone or smart TV now
IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from Google Play and the App Store in March 2026 and was never in the Amazon Appstore. Here is what to install instead on each device, from its own official store.

*Updated September 2026.*
IPTV Smarters Pro is no longer in Google Play or Apple's App Store. It was removed in March 2026, and it has never been listed in the Amazon Appstore, so today there is no official store where you can install it on a Firestick. You do not need it, though: every common device has a player app in its own official store that does the same job with the login you already have.
Below: what happened, then what to install on each device, where to find it and how to log in.
What IPTV Smarters Pro is, and why switching is easier than it sounds
IPTV Smarters Pro is a player app made by a company called WHMCS Smarters. Like every player app, it has no channels of its own. It takes the login details from a subscription you have signed up to and turns them into menus for live TV, films and series.
That is good news, because the player is the easy part to replace. Your login is not tied to Smarters: the same username, password and server address (or playlist link) will work in other player apps.
Only use services and content you are authorised to access, and read the terms of whatever you sign up to.
What happened in March 2026
On 4 March 2026, the Indian broadcaster JioStar announced that 36 IPTV apps had been removed from Google Play and Apple's App Store at its request, as part of what it described as anti-piracy enforcement during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. JioStar said the apps had more than 26.11 million downloads between them worldwide. The apps it named were IPTV Smarters Pro, XCIPTV, Televizo, VU IPTV Player and XTV Ultra.
For UK households, the practical effects are these:
- Google Play: the IPTV Smarters Pro page is gone. When we checked in September 2026, the old listing returned a "not found" page.
- App Store: IPTV Smarters Pro is no longer listed. The same developer still offers a different app there, Smarters Player Lite.
- Amazon Appstore: nothing changed, because IPTV Smarters Pro was never in Amazon's store in the first place.
- Lookalikes: apps with "Smarters" in the name from other developers are still listed in the stores. They are not made by WHMCS Smarters, so always check the developer name on the listing before you install anything.
What to install now, device by device
Here is the short version. Each device has its own section below with the steps.
| Your device | What to install now | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Firestick or Fire TV on Fire OS (Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max, 4K Plus, Cube, 2024 Stick HD, TVs with Fire TV built in) | A player app that supports your login type | Amazon Appstore on the stick |
| Fire TV Stick 4K Select or 2026 Fire TV Stick HD (Vega OS) | A player app listed in the Appstore for your stick | Amazon Appstore only |
| Android TV or Google TV (Sony, TCL, Philips, Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV) | TiviMate | Google Play |
| iPhone, iPad, Apple TV | Smarters Player Lite by WHMCS SMARTERS | App Store |
| Samsung or LG smart TV | A player app from the TV's own store | Samsung Apps or LG Content Store |
One rule covers every row: install only from the official store on that device. Do not follow download links from YouTube videos, forums or websites that claim to offer Smarters, because you cannot tell what those files really are.
Firestick and Fire TV on Fire OS
Most Firesticks in UK homes still run Fire OS, Amazon's version of Android. That includes the Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max and 4K Plus, the Fire TV Cube, the first Fire TV Stick HD from 2024 and tellies with Fire TV built in.
On these, get your player from the Amazon Appstore:
- On the Fire TV home screen, choose Find, then Search.
- Type IPTV player, or the name of the app your provider suggests.
- Open a listing before you install it and check three things: the developer name, when it was last updated, and that the description mentions the login type you were given (Xtream Codes or M3U).
- Select Get or Download, wait for it to install, then choose Open.
Searching the Appstore turns up several apps with "Smarters" or "Smarters Pro" in their titles. We could not confirm that any of them come from WHMCS Smarters, so go by the developer name on the listing, not the title or icon.

Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD (Vega OS)
Amazon's newest sticks run a different system called Vega OS. On those, you can only install apps from the Amazon Appstore, and the Appstore on Vega has a smaller range of apps than on older sticks.
To check which system yours runs:
- Press the cog on the home screen to open Settings.
- Go to My Fire TV, then About.
- Look at the software version. If it says Fire OS followed by a number, follow the Fire OS section above. If it just says OS and the number starts with a 1, it is a Vega OS stick.
On a Vega stick, search the Appstore the same way and check the developer name. If the app your provider supports is not there, the realistic options are a player app built into your smart TV, or a Google TV device plugged into the telly. Our guide to Vega OS and IPTV on newer Fire TV sticks goes through each option.
Android TV and Google TV
Tellies from Sony, TCL and Philips, plus the Google TV Streamer and Chromecast with Google TV, run Android TV or Google TV. These have Google Play, and that makes life simple, because TiviMate is in Google Play.
TiviMate is made by Armobsoft and is designed for a telly and a remote. It supports Xtream Codes logins and M3U links, and its programme guide is a grid much like Sky or Freeview, which many people find familiar. The app is free to install, and a paid Premium upgrade adds extras such as recording and catch-up.
- Open Google Play on the telly (on Google TV, use Search or the Apps tab).
- Search for TiviMate and open TiviMate IPTV Player.
- Check the developer is Armobsoft FZE, then choose Install.
Our TiviMate setup guide for the UK walks through adding your login, getting the guide to load and the settings worth changing.

iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
On Apple devices, the developer behind IPTV Smarters Pro still has an app in the UK App Store: Smarters Player Lite by WHMCS SMARTERS. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and the listing was last updated in September 2026. It is free, with an optional Premium upgrade that costs £1.99 at the time of writing.
- Open the App Store and search for Smarters Player Lite.
- Check the developer reads WHMCS SMARTERS. Other apps with similar names are listed by other companies.
- Choose Get.
One thing to know before you start. The App Store description talks about M3U and JSON playlists and does not mention an Xtream Codes login. If your provider gave you a username, password and server address, ask them for the M3U link for your account as well. Most providers can send one.

Samsung and LG smart TVs
Samsung and LG tellies do not run Android, so the steps above do not apply. Samsung sets only install apps from Samsung's own store, and LG sets from the LG Content Store (called Apps on newer models).
Open the store from the home screen, search for a player app your provider supports, and check the developer name and last update date before you install. Which apps appear depends on the make, model and year of the telly. Our guide to IPTV on a smart TV lists what to look for on each brand, and explains when a streaming stick is the easier route on an older set.
Logging in with your subscription details
Whichever app you choose, the login works the same way. Your provider will have given you one of two things.
An Xtream Codes login. This is three details: a username, a password and a server address (URL). In the app, look for an option such as Xtream Codes or Add user. Type the server address exactly as sent, including the http:// at the start and any port number, such as :8080, at the end. The app then fetches your channels, programme guide, films and series by itself.
An M3U link. This is one long web address. Choose the option for M3U or playlist URL and type or paste it in. Some apps need a separate programme guide link (often called an EPG URL) to fill in the guide, so ask your provider for that too.
A few tips that save a lot of bother:
- TV keyboards sometimes add a capital letter at the start or a space at the end. Check both before you press OK.
- The first load can take a minute or two while the app downloads your channel list. Leave it be.
If you already have IPTV Smarters Pro installed
If Smarters is already on your Firestick, telly or phone, it may carry on working for now. Taking an app out of a store does not normally delete it from devices that already have it. There are catches, though:
- It will not get updates through Google Play or the App Store, so fixes for bugs or new devices will not arrive that way.
- If you delete it, reset the device or buy a new one, you cannot reinstall it from the store.
- It is tempting to search the web for a copy. Please do not. Download sites and video links can hand you a file that is not what it claims to be.
Switching while everything still works is the calmer option. Find the message with your login details first, install the new app from your device's store, log in and check your usual channels play. Once you are happy, you can uninstall Smarters.
Common problems after switching
The app is not in my store. Check the country setting on the device is the UK, and that you are searching the store on the telly or stick itself, not on a phone. On a Vega OS Firestick the range is smaller, so see the Vega section above.
"Login failed" or "invalid details". Retype the server address slowly, with http:// and the port. Look for a stray space or capital letter in the username and password. If it fails on two different devices, the account needs looking at, so message your provider.
The programme guide is empty. Give it a few minutes on the first load, then use the app's refresh EPG or update guide option. Check the date and time on the device are right. If you logged in with an M3U link, you may need to add the provider's EPG link separately.
Buffering. Restart the router and the device (unplug both for a minute), move the router closer or use a wired connection, and clear the app's cache in the device settings. Our IPTV not working checklist goes through the rest step by step.
Getting help choosing and setting up the app
If this all feels like a lot, you do not have to do it on your own. BingeBear's team talks customers through installing the right app for their device over WhatsApp, one step at a time, using apps from the device's own store. You can try the service first with a free 24-hour trial: no card and no contract. Send your name and WhatsApp number, get a login back, and see how it runs on your own telly before paying anything.
Frequently asked questions
Is IPTV Smarters Pro still available in 2026?
Not from the main app stores. IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from Google Play and Apple's App Store in March 2026, and it has never been listed in the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV. The same developer, WHMCS Smarters, still offers a different app called Smarters Player Lite on the UK App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. On other devices, use a player app from that device's own official store.
Why was IPTV Smarters Pro removed from Google Play and the App Store?
On 4 March 2026 the Indian broadcaster JioStar announced that 36 IPTV apps had been removed from Google Play and the App Store as part of its anti-piracy enforcement during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It named IPTV Smarters Pro, XCIPTV, Televizo, VU IPTV Player and XTV Ultra among them, and said the apps had over 26 million downloads between them.
What can I use instead of IPTV Smarters Pro on a Firestick?
Use a player app from the Amazon Appstore on the stick itself. Search the Appstore, open the listing, and check the developer name, the last update date and that it supports the login type your provider gave you (Xtream Codes or an M3U link). Several apps with "Smarters" in the name are listed by other developers, so go by the developer, not the name or icon.
Will IPTV Smarters Pro keep working if I already have it installed?
It may carry on working for a while, because taking an app out of a store does not normally remove it from devices that already have it. It will not get updates through Google Play or the App Store, though, and if you delete it or reset the device you cannot reinstall it from the store. Planning a switch now, while everything still works, is the calmer option.
Is Smarters Player Lite the same as IPTV Smarters Pro?
No. Both come from WHMCS Smarters, but Smarters Player Lite is a separate app. On the UK App Store it is free, with an optional Premium upgrade at £1.99 at the time of writing, and runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Its description talks about M3U and JSON playlists rather than an Xtream Codes login, so ask your provider for an M3U link to use it.
Can I install TiviMate on a Firestick from the Amazon Appstore?
No. TiviMate is not in the Amazon Appstore, so it is not a store install on any Fire TV device. It is in Google Play, which makes it a good choice on Android TV and Google TV devices such as Sony and TCL tellies, the Google TV Streamer or a Chromecast with Google TV. On a Firestick, pick a player that is listed in the Amazon Appstore instead.
