LG Smart TVs run an operating system called WebOS. Like Samsung, you install IBO Player Pro straight from LG's own app store (called the LG Content Store). No Downloader, no sideloading. The whole setup takes about 5 minutes.

What you need before you start

• An LG Smart TV from 2017 onwards (WebOS 3.0 or newer). The version check below tells you in 30 seconds.

• Wi-Fi or Ethernet on the telly with at least 25 Mbps for HD sport.

• Your BingeBear IPTV login (we send it on WhatsApp inside 5 minutes of starting the free trial).

• 5 minutes and your phone close by (one photo of the telly).

The setup in four small steps

• Open the LG Content Store and search for IBO Player Pro.

• Install the app.

• Open IBO Player Pro and take a photo of the first screen (it shows a MAC address and Device Key).

• Send the photo to our support agent on WhatsApp. They load your channel list. You restart the app. Channels appear.

No engineer. No satellite dish. No 18-month contract.

Quick check: is your LG running WebOS 3.0 or newer?

IBO Player Pro requires WebOS 3.0 or newer (LG tellys from 2017 onwards). To check:

• Press the Home button (the small house icon) on the LG Magic Remote.

• Click the gear icon (Settings) on the top right.

• Choose All Settings.

• Choose General then About This TV.

• Look at the WebOS Version line. If it shows 3.0 or higher, you are grand.

WebOS 1 and 2 (2014-2016 LG models) cannot run IBO Player Pro. Skip to troubleshooting for the BOB Player or classic IBO Player workaround.

Step 1: Open the LG Content Store and search for IBO Player Pro

• Press the Home button on the LG Magic Remote.

• The LG Launcher bar appears across the bottom of the screen.

• Scroll right until you see the LG Content Store icon (a shopping bag with a play button).

• Click LG Content Store.

• Inside the LG Content Store, scroll to the search icon (magnifying glass, usually top-right).

• Type IBO Player Pro with the on-screen keyboard.

• Press Search.

• IBO Player Pro appears in the results.

IBO Player Pro not in the LG Content Store? Check your LG is set to the correct region. Settings then General then Location then LG Services Country, set to Ireland or the United Kingdom, restart the telly, re-search.

Step 2: Install IBO Player Pro

• Click the IBO Player Pro entry.

• Click Install.

• The LG downloads and installs the app (about 30 seconds).

• Click Launch when it finishes.

IBO Player Pro is now in your LG Launcher. Long-press the icon to move it to a fixed slot for easier access.

Step 3: Photograph the MAC address and Device Key

• The first screen shows: MAC address: like `00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX`

• Device Key: 6 to 10 characters

• Take a phone photo of the whole telly screen.

LG also has two MAC addresses. One for Wi-Fi, one for Ethernet. Switching connection changes the MAC IBO Player Pro reads. Decide which connection you will use long-term before sending the photo.

Step 4: Send the photo to our support agent

• WhatsApp the photo to our support agent. Tell them which device ("LG in the sitting room").

• They load the BingeBear playlist against your LG's MAC on the IBO Player Pro provider portal.

• Close IBO Player Pro fully (back to LG Launcher).

• Re-open IBO Player Pro. Channel list, EPG, films and sport appear.

How IBO Player Pro activation works on LG

7-day free trial after the playlist loads. After that, IBO Player Pro asks for a one-off device activation (around €7 to €10) paid to IBO Solutions via iboplayer.pro. Locked to your LG TV's MAC, paid once, lasts forever on that telly.

Troubleshooting IPTV on LG Smart TV

1. IBO Player Pro not in LG Content Store

Older LG models (WebOS 1 and 2, 2014-2016) cannot run it. Use BOB Player from the LG Content Store as the backup. Same flow: install, photograph MAC + Device Key, send to provider.

2. App installs but will not open

WebOS sometimes needs a permission. Settings then General then About This TV. If there is a Smart TV Service Country setting, make sure it is Ireland or UK. Restart the telly and try the app again.

3. "Invalid MAC" after Step 4

One character on the MAC sent to our support agent is wrong. Re-photograph the screen and resend. Common typos: `O` vs `0`, `B` vs `8`.

4. Switched between Wi-Fi and Ethernet, channels stopped

Dual MAC issue. Send the new MAC to our support agent on WhatsApp and they re-load the playlist against it.

5. Sport buffers, films play fine

Wi-Fi bandwidth issue. Plug the LG into the router with a network cable, move the router closer, or switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Drop the channel from FHD to HD in IBO Player Pro settings if all else fails.

6. Programme guide blank for the first hour

Normal. EPG takes 5 to 10 minutes the first time. Leave the channel list open and it fills in.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best IPTV app for LG Smart TV in Ireland in 2026?

For most Irish LGs from 2017 onwards, IBO Player Pro from the LG Content Store. BOB Player is the cleanest backup on older LGs or when IBO is acting up on a specific model.

Why does the MAC address change between Wi-Fi and Ethernet?

Every LG Smart TV has two network adapters, each with its own MAC. The app reads whichever connection is active. If you switch connection later, the MAC changes and our support agent needs to re-load the playlist against the new MAC.

Can I watch GAA, Premier League and Sky Sports on LG IPTV?

Yes, your BingeBear plan includes those feeds. Most Irish services include every Sky Sport channel, every GAA championship match, every Premier League fixture, plus Saorview, Virgin Media, RTE and the UK and US sport feeds.

What if my LG is from 2015 or 2016?

WebOS 1 or 2 cannot run IBO Player Pro. Try BOB Player from the same LG Content Store. If that also fails, the classic IBO Player is the next fallback. For pre-2015 LGs, a small Android TV box (around €30) plugged into HDMI is the easiest route.

Once IBO Player Pro is installed on your LG Smart TV

You should be at the MAC + Device Key screen. Two things need to happen before the channels appear:

• The playlist has to be loaded against that MAC on the IBO Player Pro provider portal.

• The device has to be activated after the 7-day free trial (around €7 to €10, one-off).
